Anyone who comes to Varese is welcomed by a sight that is truly without equal.In a harmonic and natural environment, the town lies under what seems to be an infinite sky, surrounded by a huge green expanse, the calm waters of the lake of glacial origin, and the Pre-Alps and Alps, with Monte Rosa capping them all.
The town of Besano has a civic museum whose exhibits include pieces from this remarkable historical and environmental heritage, amongst which fossil fish, marine and terrestrial reptiles, plants and invertebrates, from the Mesozoic age and more specifically from the Middle Triassic period. In that epoch, these areas were part of a vast ocean called Tethys. The drying and disappearance of the ocean coincided with the formation of the Alpine chain.
In the last 50 years a small chocolate factory has become a successful company that is now an established institution in Ticino. Some 100 employees make tablets, small bites, Neapolitans and other products from the finest Swiss chocolate for Chocolat Alprose – and as a member of Chocosuisse we are proud of our chocolate tradition.We produce 6,000 tons of treats per year and export them to 35 countries around the world.
We have a large garden that frames the hotel, offering a magnificent view of the garden and, at the same time, enjoying the excellent tastings that we serve in our bar area or during breakfast time.
For guests who want to relax in peace, we have gazebos, sun umbrellas and sun loungers.
